DDMS Yearbook
The Dillard Drive Yearbook Staff is responsible for the creation of the school's annual yearbook. Student in grades 6-8 are eligible to apply and will be selected based on teacher recommendations, interviews and availability. Under the guidance of adviser, Ms. Toni Ahrens, students create the entire yearbook, including taking pictures, choosing the theme, designing pages, writing about various clubs and learning photography and computer techniques. Yearbook Staff is an excellent way for students to learn leadership skills, harness their creativity and learn new techniques with photography and design.
Yearbook will be offered as an enrichment cluster this year! During the enrichment cluster class period, students will work on the layout, take pictures and create the design. This means students are not required to stay after school to participate. Ms. Ahrens may call a few after school meetings on Tuesdays from 3:30-5:00, but these will be optional. Students will also be asked to volunteer to take pictures at sporting events after school, but this is also optional.
Students interested in the 2008-2009 Yearbook staff must turn in this application as well as two teacher recommendations by Tuesday, September 9 . Place the application in the folder outside of Ms. Ahrens’ door (Room 617) or return to your homeroom teacher. Teacher recommendation forms should be given to two different teachers who will then pass them in to Ms. Ahrens. Students must maintain good academic standing and cannot serve ISS or OSS to remain on yearbook.
Please see Ms. Ahrens or email tahrens@wcpss.net for more information.
