Academic Boosters: Assist in preparing certificates and help serve refreshments at honor roll recognition ceremonies.

Agenda Sales: Help with agenda sales to students during the first 1-2 weeks of school.

Awards/Grants:  Assist with drafting and submitting paperwork for PTA recognition awards and grants

Book Fair: Help with sales at Fall and Spring Book Fairs held in the Media Center.

Booster Club Liaison: Act as liaison between school sports teams and the PTA.

Community Outreach:  Help school social worker collect and sort donations for holiday gift baskets.

Cultural Arts: Help select and schedule enrichment programs for each grade level.

ESL Support: Assists with translations of school communications including newsletter. Occasionally needed to assist Student Services with translation.

Fundraising: Assist with the Dragon Fund Drive:  publicity; counting money; providing incentive rewards, etc.

Grade Representative:  Coordinate end-of-year event for your child’s grade level.

Health & Safety: Work with the School Nurse on health- related issues ie. vision screening and Health Fair  immunizations.

Historian/Scrapbook: Capture our school story in photos, newspaper clippings, and memorabilia.

Hospitality: Help with all staff appreciations; provide enhancements and refreshments at designated events.

Landscaping: Assist in the improvement and landscaping of school grounds.

Legislative: Ensure that PTA members are aware of important issues and upcoming meetings concerning the Wake County Public School System and the welfare of children.  Provides unbiased comprehensive information.

Media Center: Volunteer to work in the Media Center on a regular basis.

Membership: Help develop a full membership of parents and teachers in the PTA.

Newsletter: Assist with gathering information, distribution, folding, stapling, labeling. (Once every 2 months).

Painless Fundraisers:  Assist with publicity, collecting labels/boxtops/etc.., providing rewards, and ordering free items.

Parent Involvement/Public Relations: An inspired team of 'cheerleaders' that work to improve our school through publicity, school programs and getting parents into the school.

Publicity/ E-Group:  Assist with any all-school media publicity opportunities; help submit postings to E-Group moderator.

Reflections:  Help promote the Reflections competition and collect student’s works of art and literature for submission.

SEPTA Liaison: Attends Wake SEPTA (Special Education PTA) meetings and reports back to DDMS PTA meetings. (Wake SEPTA is a four-year old district-wide PTA unit focusing on the needs and interests of parents and educators of students receiving special education services. Membership is $5 annually. Wake SEPTA is a group separate from the Dillard Drive Middle School PTA.)

School Directory: Help compile student information into a directory and assist with distribution.

School Photos: Assist with student sign-in for school photos.

Technology:  Serve on committee to evaluate computer and technology needs; help research purchase options.

Test Proctor: Assist with proctoring Writing Assessments, End of Grade tests, etc.

Tutoring: Provide one-on-one academic support to enhance learning.

Tutoring Coordinator: Gathers names of interested volunteers and contacts them when tutoring is needed.

Volunteer Coordinator: Gathers name of volunteers and separates them according to their interests, forwarding them to the appropriate committee chairs.

Wake Ed Partnership:  Publicizes and attends Wake Ed Partnership events (2-3 per year).

Web Site Update: Keeps web site current.

Welcome Committee: Sets the stage for various events such as: Meet the Teacher Day and Open House.
